On January 14, 2015, Bobby Robson was named the 6th Head Coach in program history.

Bobby Robson concluded his fifth season as the Head Boys Volleyball Coach at Chandler High School in 2019, with the Wolves winning the AIA 6A State Championship, Chandler’s first. The Wolves went 26-6-4 overall, earning a #2 ranking in the State Playoffs. On their way to the state final, the Wolves defeated #15 Liberty, #7 Mesa, #3 Desert Vista, and ultimately #4 Mesa Mountain View in a five-set State Championship match.

From 2017-2019, Chandler tallied 94 wins and emerged as one of Arizona’s top programs, appearing in two State Championship games and winning two Premier Region Championships.

In his tenure at Chandler, the Wolves have received a historic amount of region, state, and national recognition. The Wolves have seen nine players recognized on their region’s first-team and an additional five more on their region’s second-team. Jonny Bowles (2017 & 2018), Trey Weinstein (2019), and Braxton Bradbeer (2019) were named to the AIA 6A First-Team, while AZcentral.com named Bradbeer 2019 Arizona Boys Volleyball Player of the Year. Nationally, Bowles became the program’s first AVCA High School All-American and was named the #1 recruit in the 2018 high school class by volleyballmag.com. Bradbeer was named a 2019 All American Honorable Mention by the same publication.

Robson has twice been named AIA 6A Coach of the Year (2017 & 2019) as well as AZcentral.com’s Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2017. In both ’17 and ’19 Robson was named Premier Region and CUSD Coach of the Year.

Chandler is the recipient of four straight AVCA Team Academic Awards, for their hard work and excellence in the classroom. The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

Prior to coming to CHS, Robson served on the coaching staff at Campo Verde High School for three seasons, from 2012-2014. During those three years at CVHS, Robson served as the Varsity Assistant Coach and the Head Coach for the Junior Varsity team.

Outside of school volleyball, Robson is a coach at Arizona Fear Volleyball Club. FVC is regarded as the top boy’s volleyball club in the Arizona Region and competes on the national stage annually. As a member of the coaching staff at AZ Fear, he has led and assisted teams all the way from 12U-18U and was a member of the 2018 15U Club National Championship coaching staff.

Professionally, Robson teaches in the Social Studies department at CHS after graduating cum-laude from Arizona State University in 2014 with a degree in Secondary Education. He is a proud 3-year letter winner and graduate of Chandler High School in the class of 2011 where he received All-Region and All-State honors helping lead the program on the court to its first state semifinals appearance.
